We offer three types of dental imaging depending on your treatment needs. All scans are performed with low-dose digital equipment — faster, clearer and safer than traditional film X-rays.
🦾
Standard intraoral and bitewing X-rays used for routine check-ups, cavity detection and monitoring existing restorations. Up to 90% less radiation than conventional film.
🔬
A cone-beam CT scan gives a full 3D model of your jaw, teeth, nerves and sinuses. Essential for implant placement, wisdom tooth removal and complex root canal cases.
🦷
A single full-mouth panoramic image capturing all teeth, upper and lower jaws, sinuses and TMJ in one shot. Ideal for first visits, orthodontic planning and monitoring children’s dental development.
Before Dental ImplantsCBCT scan measures bone volume and locates the inferior alveolar nerve — essential for safe placement. Before Root Canal TreatmentReveals root canal anatomy, number of canals and periapical infections invisible on standard X-rays.Wisdom Tooth RemovalShows exact position relative to the nerve — critical for surgical safety planning.Orthodontics / InvisalignOPG provides the full dentition overview needed to plan braces, aligners and tooth movements.Routine Check-UpBitewing X-rays catch cavities between teeth and under gum line before they become painful.Gum Disease MonitoringBone level X-rays track progression of periodontitis and response to treatment over time.Children’s Dental AssessmentOPG monitors adult tooth development, jaw growth and timing of orthodontic intervention.TMJ / Jaw PainCBCT gives a 3D view of the jaw joint to identify arthritic changes, disc displacement or fractures.
Your dentist reviews your symptoms and treatment plan, then recommends the appropriate scan type — digital X-ray, OPG or CBCT.
You’ll remove metal jewellery and wear a lead apron. For CBCT, you stand or sit while the scanner rotates around your head. No injections, no discomfort.
Digital X-rays take 10 seconds. OPG panoramic scans take about 20 seconds. CBCT full jaw scans complete in under 40 seconds.
Images are displayed on-screen instantly. Your dentist explains findings, walks through the 3D model with you, and outlines next steps for your treatment.
Scan files are stored in your digital records and can be shared with specialists. You can request a copy for a second opinion or GP referral.
Prices below are indicative. Final cost depends on the number of views required. Many insurance plans cover routine X-rays — our coordinators will check your coverage before scanning.

Is a dental X-ray safe?+Yes. Modern digital dental X-rays use an extremely low dose of radiation — equivalent to a few hours of natural background radiation you receive daily. We use digital sensors that reduce dose by up to 90% compared to traditional film. We follow ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles, and pregnant patients are always asked before any imaging is performed. How often should I get dental X-rays?+For adults with healthy teeth and low risk, bitewing X-rays are recommended every 12–18 months. High-risk patients (those with active decay, gum disease or complex restorations) may need X-rays every 6 months. Children may need more frequent imaging to track jaw development. Your dentist will advise the appropriate frequency for your individual needs.Do I need a CBCT scan for dental implants?+In most cases, yes. A CBCT scan is the established standard of care for implant planning because it reveals the exact bone height, width and density at the implant site, and precisely locates the inferior alveolar nerve to prevent nerve damage during surgery. Without a CBCT, implant placement carries a higher risk of complications. Will my insurance cover dental X-rays in Dubai?+Most UAE health insurance plans cover routine diagnostic X-rays as part of preventive care. CBCT scans may require pre-authorisation. We accept MedNet, MetLife, Almadallah, NextCare, NAS Insurance and most major UAE TPAs. Our insurance coordinator will verify your coverage before any imaging so there are no surprises. How long does a CBCT scan take?+The actual scan takes under 40 seconds. Preparation (removing metal items, positioning) takes 2–3 minutes. Images are available on-screen immediately after the scan, so your dentist can review findings with you in the same appointment.
